We’ve had the first of our fabric club sessions, running as part of the ds2 Arts Council funded project by Studio Polpo. The initial four sessions , run by Mary Wadeson, will teach a range of sewing skills through the making of bags and fabric components for the ds2 structure, but also allow participants to make bags for themselves to take away. The sessions allow the women attending to share skills in a sociable atmosphere, and we hope to build upon these and run more sessions to reduce loneliness, connect different communities and develop skills.
